We are grateful to Waitrose, Bloomsbury for the generous support they provided to enable us to set up this web site, which would not otherwise have been possible.

EVENTS : Promoting Community Spirit

Val Martin Memorial Walks [more]

Guided, Historic Walking Tours of Bloomsbury: Free of charge, open to the public, every Saturday. No booking required. Just turn up!

Marchmont Street Party [more]

The Marchmont Association organised the very popular Marchmont Street Party from 2006 to 2014, with the notable exception of 2011, when we organised a launch event for the Marchmont Community Garden. The event had two simple aims: (1) To bring local people together for a day of fun and (2) To help break down barriers between different sections of the community. It also provided an opportunity for local community groups and charities to raise much needed funds, whilst enabling our many partner organisations to reach a wider audience.

MA Committee meetings [more]

Following a request made by MA supporters at our AGM in May 2016, we agreed to consider posting the Minutes of MA Committee meetings on our website. The Minutes of each meeting have been posted since then and will be replaced with the most recent Minutes after each meeting. See link below.

Coram Historic Walks [more]

Join a Coram Walk around the local area and find out about Thomas Coram, The Foundling Hospital, and how the charity created one of the loveliest parts of London.

Centre for History in Public Health - History Walks [more]

Dr Ros Stanwell-Smith, an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Centre for History in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Blue Badge London guide, leads excellent public health history walks in and around Bloomsbury and central London. You can see walks and booking information here: http://history.lshtm.ac.uk/history-walks/ (link below)
