'Tales of Brunswick Square - Bloomsbury's untold past', by Ricci de Freitas, is on sale for £19.95 at Skoob Books, 66 The Brunswick (off Marchmont Street), WC1N 1AE; Judd Books, 82 Marchmont Street, WC1N 1AG; Camden Local Studies and Archive Centre, Holborn Library, Theobald's Road; and the Foundling Museum, 40 Brunswick Square.

The book was officially launched on 20th October 2014 at the wonderful Foundling Museum, in the presence of the Mayor of Camden, Councillor Lazzaro Pietragnoli and The Right Honourable Frank Dobson MP, with refreshments being generously provided by Waitrose Bloomsbury.

'Tales' tells the stories of notable former residents of the square and the organisations and events which have helped shape its history since its inception in 1792. Famous residents include Virginia Woolf, John Maynard Keynes, John Ruskin, JM Barrie and E.M. Forster. Also told are the fascinating stories of Queen Caroline of Brunswick, the Foundling Hospital, the development of the Brunswick Centre, Britain's first Psychoanalytical training centre and Minerva House - home of the Women's Freedom League.

The book is lavishly illustrated throughout, with many fascinating historical images that have never been published before. This is also the first complete history of a Bloomsbury Garden Square to have been written since 1929.

All proceeds from the sale of this book will be used to support the on-going work of the Marchmont Association and the Friends of Brunswick Square.
